Finland will be part of the huge Shanghai Expo 2010 event. We will have a self-built pavilion with clear Finnish design. The name of the Finland Pavilion is Kirnu (in Finnish), Giant’s Kettle (in English) and 冰壶in Chinese.

Vihdoin sain jotain kirjoitettua. Kuvat olivat tosi hienoja, juuri niita asioita jota Suomesta kaipaan. Mutta ehka niita voisi olla enemman? Talvimaisemia esim? Suomihan on myos muuta kun luontoa, jotain kuvia kaupungeista olisi myos kiva laittaa esim joiltain juhlilta tai vaikka Helsingin keskustan vanhoista rakennuksista. Lopun se rakennus (?) osa meni vahan ohi minulta eika se mielestani vastannut alun aiheuttamaa Suomi-visiota. Lopuksi jai vahan sellainen mieli etta mitenkohan se liittyi niihin kuviin? Onko se Suomen standi siella Expossa? Toivon mukaan naista on apua! 🙂 Hyvaa viikonalkua!! 🙂
This Video makes me want to come down to Finland. It looks like a photographer’s dream. The music is also so serene and peaceful! The photographs are simply amazing! Does this reflect Finland? I think it does but where is the snow and the ice? I don’t know much about Finland but would love to learn more. I know that they are minimalists. Which is great. VIDEO: good pictures. The music used is much too ordinary. It does not live up to the visual experience.KIRNU: the visionary convergence and the architectural “bricks-and-clicks” infrastructure really embrace Finnish art-deco and Alvar Aalto lovers. The shape is simple but function seems complex & challenging (how to utilize)…much depend on the dedicated surrounding and space. In a too crowded place it will just end up as another cup.DOES THIS REFLECT FINLAND? I believe “yes”…if you’re into art.
