Last Friday we drove here & there, did some shopping…

not enough burning the waste & sand storm – most of the cars pollute the air too…
ei riitä roskien poltto eikä hiekkamyrskyt –
suurin osa autoista saastuttaa myös…
traffic jam, jam, jam… you need a lot of extra time to be on time…
liikenneruuhka, ruuhka, ruuhka…
tarvitset paljon ylimääräistä aikaa ollaksesi perillä ajoissa…

näin paljon hiekkaa kertyi tuulen mukana tällä kertaa…
we comforted ourselves with tasty strawberries…
lohduttauduimme maukkailla mansikoilla…

Hi all!My heart beats 100x faster than normally when I see all the xxx around here.Why people don’t care about their surrounding? Here in the compound they take care more of their cars than all the xxx what is around them…It’s so sad, nobody cares…It takes generations and lots of education, changing habits, attitudes etc. before big changes happens…
Really interesting photos. It reminds me of India. They burn garbage too. If you go on a winter evening, your eyes will burn like anything.PS: I owe you an email:)
Except for the river and the toxic waste burning it is exactly like Kuwait.The chicken “market” reminds me of Korea though.And in Kuwait you found a bunch of single shoes. I always wondered,….Cool collection 🙂
This certainly is not Finland. My husband still wonders sometimes why I carry some candypaper with me to home – instead why not just throw it out of the car window…But in some way recycling is better because most of the Egyptian people can’t afford to buy new item when old one breaks. They go and repair it. In Finland you have to have every year new mobile phone or even two and the latest fast PC etc.
These photos (except for the strawberries!) are distressing to view…but I am glad you posted them…its a strong reminder of the growing problem of waste management in most urban centers.
