women…

A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving.
A good artist lets his intuition lead him wherever it wants.
– Lao-Tzu
Art is indeed not the bread but the wine of life.
– Jean Paul Richter
I can’t work without a model.
I won’t say I turn my back on nature ruthlessly in order to turn a study into a picture, arranging the colors, enlarging and simplifying;
but in the matter of form I am too afraid of departing from the possible and the true.
– Vincent Van Gogh
To speak of morals in art is to speak of legislature in sex.
Art is the sex of the imagination.
– George Jean Nathan

The artist does not see things as they are, but as he is.
– Alfred Tonnelle
The object of art is to give life a shape. [Midsummer Nights Dream]
– William Shakespeare
All art is an imitation of nature.
– Seneca
The age of a woman doesn’t mean a thing.
The best tunes are played on the oldest fiddles.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
More art later this week…

hm…a verb. Interesting. When the object is ready it lives it own life in our reality…yes, why not a verb!

  2. these pieces are fantastic! Are they from a museum in Morocco? The quotes are very fitting for the pieces. Thanks for visiting my blog and sending me some sunshine!

  3. Jaiks! It is clear, that the artist has been secretly behind my mirror!
I`ll never be naked again at home!

  4. Interesting quotes. When I look ay an object of art, I think of it as a piece of evidence, so to speak. Or, an artifact. It suggests something about a way of being, and engaging with life. The art is in the processes, more than the object. The object is a material fall-out from creative acting. So, art, in this sense is more a verb, than a noun.

  6. I'm catching up from a crazy week!

LOVE these images of women and the great quotes. The red face is so striking and I feel like I could have modeled for some of the hefty ones! Yeah, I could shed a few pounds.

You are so excellent at street scenes, catching all the vibrancy of life as it unfolds around you. It's poetic.

And the Stone House! I love the way you put your "Blogitse" over one of the beams. It's your house! That is a great shot. And the stone is so mesmerizing, just beautiful.

By the way, CAREFUL with sharp objects!! :>)
