Today weather was beautiful here in Helsinki!
I saw these Buddy Bears from a tram last week
but I had to see them closer…
“We have to get to know each other better …
… it makes us understand one another better,
trust each other more, and live together more peacefully.”

It was lunch time, not too many people…
Aren’t they cute!
Do you know which country this Buddy Bear is from?
Moroccan Buddy Bear

Love these shots! They remind me of the Panda statues that started cropping up in DC a few years ago. Great that you caught an image of the Morrocan bear, too!
Thanks Melissa! I wonder what your title Cow Tipping is about…See you soon! 🙂
Who said that quote? I agree with it. Was it you, or some reading you are doing? Photos were very cool!
I don’t know. I just copy pasted it from that site…but I think it’s a good one.
I read a book about trust right now…very interesting…
Hi Blogitse! So now, further to the cowparade, there is a bear parade…
Great shots and some lovely bears…
Blogtrotter Two just left Sardinia 2009, but it couldn’t make it without showing you the incredible Porto Cervo and its yachts… Enjoy and have a great week!
ok, it’s time to see your travel shots – thanks for reminding! 🙂
So the bears are all from different countries? The one you asked about knowing the country – I would guess Mexico from the flag.
I love public art.
Did you know that big eyeball I used on the ICB blog is a picture I took of public art in Chicago?
Yep!
It’s not Mexico – I had to check (thanks to google and wikipedia!) – it’s Romania!
I remember that big eyeball – it’s cool! 🙂
Olipas ihania kuvia ja hieman yllättäviäkin. Enpä tiennytkään Helsinkiin on saatu tuollaista taidetta. Kiitos, kun jaoit ne meidän kanssa – tykkään aina katsella kuvia Helsingistä!
Lisaa on tulossa – mm. merta ja laivoja… 🙂 Kiva nahda sua taalla!
Those are so cute!
I found your comment in trash – sorry! – but found it! – good! 🙂 cute they are!
I noticed it went missing, good that you found me in the trash… 🙂
🙂
Wow. Each one is so unique. And that square in which they are displayed is quite gorgeous too! So vast and stately. The perfect area for the bears to show off. I like your slide show!
That square is called The Senate Square, Senaatintori in Finnish. I’ll post more pics later this week…
I love them! I especially like how they are displayed. They had something similar here in our city for awhile….COWS! Different artists created a cow giant cow and they were on corners in different parts of the city. A couple of years later they were sold off for charity. I loved them.
Best,
Tina
Those bears are in the heart of the city in a circle…today I saw a lot of tourists taking pictures of/with them…
Cows, I love cows and lambs…I mean real animals 🙂
wow, as a photographer, i wish i could be there in person to take pictures of these colorful bears.
I’m sure you’d love Helsinki and especially that area of the city center. Welcome to Finland! 🙂
a close family friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer last week. she is in good spirits but i can’t imagine how difficult it would be if the news traveled around through the dark and deep realms of facebook.
i love to travel and will take you up on ANY offer of visiting another country. i just have to get my life in order first. 😉
a great week to you too!
i am also a fellow aquarian.
How cool is that! We rock! 🙂
🙂 Let me know when you’re ready! 🙂
Now, I’ve seen the bears in Helsinki, the elephants in London and the cows in Paris. I do love this expression of art and wish I could have one in my garden. The more color, the better.
🙂 I’m reading a book about trust. If we can not trust people/politicians/banks… how about a Buddy Bear standing in a back yard………
WOW I love how colorful and bright they are. Very very joyous! Great pictures you captured. 😀 Have fun in Helsinki!
Thanks Maureen, I’m having a good time! 🙂
