From wikipedia:

‘In Paris at the end of 1886, Birger made his largest painting ever,

Frukosten hos Ledoyen.

It depicts several famous Nordic painters having breakfast together on the day of the

Paris Salon’s opening. It was a common tradition for the painters

to gather on that day and have breakfast at the Ledoyen restaurant

to celebrate the opening of the Paris Salon.’

  1. I enjoyed the museum tour. Thanks for the arrows as we in the Americas are often geographically challenged. I agree with the others: that’s quite the breakfast.

  2. I like the shadows both inside and out of this lovely city – this shadowy frame has such an intricate shapes! I really enjoy the Impressionist painting of Birger – it feels lifelike yet abstract at the same time. The artist offers us a fun glimpse of him in his work. A playful touch! You have had a very cool Baltic holiday…
